Whiskey Island Design specializes in simple, usable websites for bloggers, artists and business owners. As the owner and sole proprietor, I have experience with ecommerce, web standards and accessibility issues and solutions. • Web Design

  Designing websites and web interfaces is a passion of mine. I’ve been designing websites for personal and professional use since 1997 — it’s what I love to do. Designing with web standards in mind is something you get with every web design I produce. It’s part of the package.

• Web Site Redesign

  No website is perfect and sometimes the design just needs a facelift. Redesigns are that makeover: by redesigning your site, you have the opportunity to re-organize your website, improving the design and the usability of the entire site.

• Markup & Style

  Already have a design, but need someone to take it from an idea to a reality? I can help you. I can take an existing, original, layout and create your website using HTML and CSS. Just need a template for your weblog? Give me the existing design and I’ll create a template in your blogging platform of choice.

• Training & Consultation

  So you have a website, but what do you do when you need to add something to it? Better yet, you have an online store and no knowledge of how to add a product. I can provide phone training sessions to get you up to speed on adding content to your website.

• WordPress Theme Design

  I’ve been using WordPress since its beginnings in 2003. I’ve designed more WordPress themes than I can keep track of, some of which are still in use today.

• ShopSite Custom Template Design

  ShopSite, one of the leading ecommerce platforms available, can be a bit daunting when it comes to design customization. I’ve designed custom ShopSite templates for my client Gifts By Delivery, and am working on earning my ShopSite designer certification. I’m offering special rate packages while I’m earning my certification: if you’re interested, contact me and we’ll talk about what I can do for you.

• Web Standards

  Web standards looks like another web buzzphrase, but it’s actually much, much more than just a phrase. When I say that I design with web standards in mind, what I’m saying is that I’m using HTML and CSS the way they were intended to be used. What’s the payoff? Faster load speeds, better search engine optimization, lower data transfer rates, easier and smoother redesigns, and increased usability for everyone, regardless of ability, browser or platform.
